A rectangular lawn is of length 20 m and breadth 10 m with triangular flower
beds at each corner as shown in the adjoining figure. Find the area of lawn
excluding the flower beds.

Answer:192 sq m

Area of the rectangular lawn=l×b =20×10=200m

Area of triangular flower bed=1/2×b×h=1/2×2×2=2m

As all the sides of a triangular flower beds are same so the area =4×2=8m

So,area of lawn excluding the flower beds=200m-8m=192 sq m
