Answer :

Rs,51600

Explanation :

Let ABCD be a rectangular lawn of length 35 cm and breadth 45 cm and external path EFGH with 3m width.

 \star \rm \: Area \: of \: rectangle \: ABCD = length \times breadth

 \sf \hookrightarrow \: 35  \: cm\times 45 \: cm

 \sf \: Area =  \large \boxed{ \sf1575 \:  {cm}^{2} }

Length of rectangle EFGH = 35 + 3 + 3 = 41 cm

Breadth of rectangle EFGH = 45 + 3 + 3 = 51 cm

 \star \rm \: Area \: of \: rectangle \:  EFGH \: = length \times breadth

 \sf \hookrightarrow \: 41 \: cm \times 51 \: cm

 \sf \: Area =  \large \boxed{ \sf2091\:  {cm}^{2} }

Area of Path = Area of EFGH - Area of ABCD

 \hookrightarrow \sf \: (2091 - 1575) {cm}^{2}

 \sf \: Area =  \large \boxed{ \sf516\:  {cm}^{2} }

Cost of constructing the path :

 \star \rm \: Area  \: of  \: path  \times Cost \:  per \: metre

 \hookrightarrow \sf \: 516 \times 100

 \sf \:  Cost \: =  \large \boxed{ \sf \: Rs \: 51600}

QUESTION :-

a rectangular lawn is to be surrounded externally by a path which is 3 M wide if the dimension of lawn are 35 and 45 find the cost of constructing the path as the rate of 100 per metre square.

ANSWER:-

AREA OF INNER REACTANGLE =L×B

=45×35

=1575m².

length of outer rectangle =45+6=51m.

breath of outer rectangle =35+6=41m.

AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE =L×B

=41×51

=2091m².

.°. AREA OF PATH=AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE-AREA OF INNER REACTANGLE.

.°.AREA OF PATH=2091-1575

.°.AREA OF PATH=516m².

HENCE,

COST OF PATH =516×100

.°. COST OF PATH =RS.51600.
