Answer:a rectangular lawn is to be surrounded externally by a path which is 3 M wide if the dimension of lawn are 35 and 45 find the cost of constructing the path as the rate of 100 per metre square.

ANSWER:-

AREA OF INNER REACTANGLE =L×B

=45×35

=1575m².

length of outer rectangle =45+6=51m.

breath of outer rectangle =35+6=41m.

AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE =L×B

=41×51

=2091m².

.°. AREA OF PATH=AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE-AREA OF INNER REACTANGLE.

.°.AREA OF PATH=2091-1575

.°.AREA OF PATH=516m².

HENCE,

COST OF PATH =516×100

.°. COST OF PATH =RS.51600

Answer

Length of lawn =30m

Breadth of lawn =28m

Therefore,

Area of lawn (A

1

)=l×b=30×28=840m

2

Now,

Length of lawn including path =30+2+2=34m

Breadth of lawn including path =28+2+2=32m

Therefore,

Area of lawn including path (A

2

)=34×32=1088m

2

Therefore,

Area of path =A

2

−A

1

=1088−840=248m

2

Cost of levelling =Rs.5 per square meter

Therefore,

Cost of levelling path =5×248=Rs.1240
