A rectangular lawn measuring 50m by 36m is surrounded externaly by a path which is 2 m wide. Find the area of the path. Also calculate the cost of levelling of the path at Rs16 per metre ².​

$area \: of \: rectanguler \: lawn \: = \: 50 \times 36$

$= 1800 {m}^{2}$

$area \: of \: rectangular \: lawn \: and \: + \: area \: of \: path \: = \: (50 + 2 + 2) \times (36 + 2 + 2)$

$1800 + area \: of \: path \: = \: 54 \times 40$

$1800 + area \: of \: path = \: 2160$

$area \: of \: path \: = 2160 - 1800$

$area \: of \: path \: = 360 {m}^{2}$

Cost of levelling of the path at Rs16 per meter²

$cost \: of \: levelling \: of \: path \: at \: rs16 \: per \: {m}^{2} = 360 \times 16$

$cost \: of \: levelling \: of \: the \: path \: = rs5760$
