50×36 = 1800
50+2+2× 36+2+2= 2160
area= 2160-1800=360
360×16 =5760

Question:-

a rectangular lawn measuring 50 m by 36 m is surrounded externally by a path which is 2 m wide . find the area of the path . calculate the cost of levelling of the path at 16 per square m

solution:-

Let, L be the length of rectangle and B be the breadth rectangle.

By Question:-

We know formula of

=> Area of rectangle = L × B

=> Area of rectangle = 50 × 36

=> Area of rectangle = 1800 m²

=> X = 1800

we know that length and breadth increase by 2 m from their both ends.

so,

=> L = 50 + 2 + 2 = 54 m.

=> B = 36 + 2 + 2 = 40 m.

We know formula of

=> Area of rectangle + path = L × B

=> Area of rectangle + path

= 54 × 40

=> Area of rectangle + path

= 2160 m²

=> Z = 2160

=> Area of path =( Z ) - ( X )

=> Area of path = 2160 - 1800

=> Area of path = 360 m²

Area of path 360 m².

To finding cost of surfing the path

=> Area × 16 = 360 × 16=unit 5760

Hence cost of levelling the path

is unit 5760

i hope it helps you.
