The volume of the cylinder is 514.5 cm³

• Given data :

Length of the rectangular piece of paper is 33 centimetres.

Breadth of the rectangular piece of paper is 14 centimetres.

• Now,the piece of paper was rolled along it's width,so the height the cylinder will be the length of the paper and base circumference will be the breadth of the paper. (If we exclude any kind of overlapping)

• Let,the radius of the base of the cylinder = r centimetres ( Assume r as a variable to calculate the length of the radius of the cylinder)

• So,the circumference of the base of the cylinder is :

= 2×π×r

= 2πr centimetres

• Now,if we compare the given value of the circumference of the base of the cylinder and our calculated value of the circumference of the base of the cylinder,then we will get the following equation :

2πr = 14

r = 14/2π

r = 7/π

• So,the radius of the base of the

cylinder is 7/π centimetres.

• Now, we have to calculate the volume of the cylinder by using the following mathematical formula :

= base area × height

= π × (r)² × 33

= π × 49/π² × 33

= 49/π × 33

= 49 × 7/22 × 33

= 514.5 cm³

So,the volume of the cylinder is 514.5 cm³. (Answer)
