Area of vertical I pathway = lxb

lxb = 16 m x 4m = 64 m²

Area of horizontal - line = lxb

lxb = 24 mx 4m = 96 m²

Both pathway intersect at one place so we will substract on pathway's area.

So, area of that intersected square = side x side

side x side =4m x 4m 16m²

Therefore, the area of both the pathways

= 64m² +96m²- 16m² = 144m²
