Answer:

Area of path = 2184 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Length of path = 100 m

Width of path = 70 m

We know,

Area of rectangle = length * width

So,

Area of rectangular park = 100 * 70 = 7000 m²

According to question,

A path of 6m runs along inside it

So,

After path is added around rectangle,

New length = 100 + 2*6 = 112 m

new breadth = 70 + 2*6 = 82m

Now,

Area of rectangle with path = 112 * 82

= 9184 m²

So,

Area of path = Area of rectangle with path - Area of rectangle without path

Area of path = 9184 - 7000

= 2184 m²

Hence,

Area of path = 2184 m²
