A rectangular park is 35 m long and 20 m wide. A path 1.5 m wide is
constructed outside the park. Find the area of the path.

Lenght of smaller rectangle is 35 m and a 1.5m wide path constructed outside so, lenght of larger rectangle is (35 + 1.5)m= 36.5m.

Similarly, breadth of larger rectangle is (20+1.5)m= 21.5m.

so area of larger rectangle = (36.5)×(21.5)= 784.75 m².

and area of smaller rectangle = 35×20=700m². So, area of constructed path = ( area of larger rectangle) - ( area of smaller rectangle)

=> (784.75 - 700)m²

=> 84.75m²
