length of rectangular park = 40 m
Breadth of rectangular park = 16m
Area of park without path = 40 × 16 = 640 sq m
Length of park with path = 40+2.5 = 42.5 m
Breadth of park with path = 16+2.5 = 18.5 m
Area of park with path = 42.5×18.5 = 786.25sqm
Area of path = (786.25-640) = 146.25 sq m
hence the required area of path is 146.25 sq m.
