Given:

\sf{\rightarrow length\:of\:the\:rectangular\:park\:= 45m}

\sf{\rightarrow breadth\:of\:the\:rectangular\:park\: = 30m}

\sf{\rightarrow width\:of\:the\:path\:constructed\: outside\:the\:park\:= 2m}

To Find:

cost of cementing the path at the rate of rupees 20 per m²

Solution:

\sf{Let\:"ABCD"\:be\:the\:rectangular\: park}

therefore,

\sf\red{ AB = DC = 45m}

\sf\red{ AD = BC = 30m}

\sf{Let\:"EFGH"\:be\:the\:path\:that\:is\: constructed\:outside\:the\:park}

therefore,

\sf\purple{ EF = GH = 45 + (2+2) = 49}

\sf\purple{EH = FG = 30 + (2+2) = 34}

Now,

to find the cost of cementing the path,first we need to find the area of the path

So,

\sf{area\:of\:rectangle\:ABCD\:= 45 × 30 = 1,350m^2}

\sf{area\:of\:rectangle\:EFGH\:= 49 × 34 = 1,666m^2}

Therefore,

{\boxed{\orange{\sf{area\:of\:the\:path = rectangle\:EFGH\:-\:rectangle\:ABCD}}}}

\sf{\implies area\:of\:the\:path\:= 1,666 - 1,350}

\sf{\implies area\:of\:the\:path\:= 316m^2}

Now,

\sf{cost\:of\:cementing\:the\:path\:per\: metre\:= 20}

\sf{cost\:of\:cementing\:the\:path\:for\: 316m\:=  20 × 316}

\sf{cost\:of\:cementing\:the\:path\:= 6,320}

Hence,

cost of cementing the path for 316m² is 6,320
