A rectangular park is 50 m long and 35 m broad. A 3.5 m broad pavement runs along the boundary of the park. Find the cost of cementing this pavement at the rate of `400 per 8 m2. Give the answer typed.

To Find:-

  • The Cost of Cementing the Pavement at the rate of 400per 8m²

Formulae used:-

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth.

How To Solve?

  • For solving this, we have to find the Area of Pavement

  • To Find the area of Pavement first we have to find the Area of Rectanglular park excluding the Pavement and area of Rectanglular park including the Pavement.

  • after that we will subtract the both and find the area of Pavement.

Now,

→ Length of Rectangle = 50

→ Breadth of Rectangle = 35

→ Area of Park excluding Pavement =50× 35 = 1750m²

Hence, The area of Park is 1750m².

Now, After including the Pavement we get,

→ Length of Park = 50 + 3.5 + 3.5 → 57

→ Breadth of Park = 35 + 3.5 + 3.5 → 42

→ Area of Park including Pavement = 57 × 42= 2394m²
