A rectangular park is 60cm long and 40cm wide . a path 2.5 wide is constructed outside the park . Find the area of the path.

Area of inner rectangle will be 60*40 = 2400cm²

dimensions of outer rectangle will be l=60+2.5+2.5=65(Here 2.5 will be added 2 times because 2.5 will be extra on both sides of length and breadth)  and

                                                               b=40+2.5+2.5=45

area of outer rectangle is 65*45=2925 cm²

area of path is 2925-2400  i.e., 525 cm²
