Given :-

Length of the park = 90 m

Width of the park = 35 m

A lady walks around the park travelling 5 km.

To Find :-

Number of times the lady went around the park.

Analysis :-

Firstly, we've to find the perimeter of the rectangular park by substituting the given values in the formula of perimeter of rectangle.

Once we find the perimeter (meters) convert the distance she traveled to meters.

Finally, divide the distance traveled by the perimeter in order to get the number of times she traveled around the park.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • p = Perimeter

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Perimeter \ of \ a \ rectangle=2(Length+Breadth)}}

Given that,

Length (l) = 90 m

Breadth (b) = 35 m

Substituting their values,

Perimeter = 2(90 + 35)

= 2(125)

= 250 m

Therefore, the perimeter of the rectangle is 250 m.

Given that, A lady walks around the park travelling 5 km.

By converting,

1 km = 1000 m

5 km = 5000 m

According to the question,

Number of times she goes around the park = Distance traveled ÷ Perimeter

Substituting their values,

= 5000/250

= 20 times

Therefore, she travels 20 times around the park.
