Given :  rectangular Park is of length 30 cm and breadth 20 metre it has two paths each of width 2 metre around it one inside and the other outside

To find  :  the total area of these paths

Solution:

Rectangular park

length = 30 m

Breadth = 20 m

2 m path outside

Hence out side length = 30 + 2 + 2 =  34 m

Out side breadth = 20 + 2 + 2 = 24 m

Area = 34 * 24 m²

2 m path inside

Hence inside length = 30 - 2 - 2 = 26 m

inside breadth = 20 - 2 - 2  = 16 m

Area = 26 * 16 m²

Area of path = 34 * 24  -  26 * 16

= 8 ( 34 * 3 - 26 * 2 )

= 8 * 2 ( 17 * 3 - 26)

=  16 ( 51 - 26)

= 16 * 25

= 400 m²

total area of these paths = 400 m²
