A rectangular piece is 20 m long and 15 m wide. From its four corners, quadrants of radii 3.5 m have been cut.

Find the area of the remaining part.

 \sf \red{ \underline{Solution :-}}

⇒ Here, l=20m,b=15cm,r=3.5m and θ=90°

⇒ Area of rectangle =l×b=(20×15) m²

=300m²

⇒ Area of a quadrant = θ/360° ×πr²

⇒ Area of a quadrant = 90°/360° × 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5

∴ Area of a quadrant =9.625m²

⇒ Area of 4 quadrant =4×9.625=38.5m²

⇒ Area of remaining part = Area of rectangle - Area of 4 quadrant

∴ Area of remaining part =(300−38.5)m²

=261.5m²
