A rectangular piece of dimension 3cm2cm is cut from one corner of a rectangular sheet of dimension 10cm6cm and attached to its side projecting out of the rectangle what will be the change in perimeter of the new shape thus formed

Area of rectangular piece= L * B

=3cm * 2cm

=6cm square

Area of rectangular sheet = L * B

=10cm * 6cm

=60cm square

New shape formed = area of rectangular sheet - area of rectangular piece

=60cm - 6cm square

=56 cm squre
