A rectangular piece of paper of perimeter 32 cm was folded once at the two ends to form the shape as shown below. Find the value of w in cm.

Hello,

The breadth of paper sheet is 3 cm(see the top part. When unfolded it forms the breadth)

Length will be (ungiven part + 1+2) = (w+3)
Now,
2(ungiven part+3+3)=32
Or,
Ungiven part+6 = 16
Or, ungiven part= 10cm

W = ungiven part - breadth(since, the breadth covers the part of tge ungiven part)
SO,
W = 10 - 3 = 7 cm
