According the question, we have to find out :-

1)  The perimeter of the rectangular piece of paper.

2)The area of the shaded side of paper.

At first we will find out the perimeter of rectangular piece of paper.

according the given figure,

l = 10cm

b = 5cm

∴  the perimeter of rectangular piece of paper

=  2 ( l+b)

= 2 ( 10 cm + 5 cm )

= 2 ×15cm

= 30cm.

Hence  the perimeter of rectangular piece of paper will be 30cm.

In this step we will find out the area of the shaded side of paper.

From the given figure we get the shape of shaded part, which looks like a Δ.

(Where l= 5cm,

h=5cm)            [ according the given figure]

∴Area of the Δ will be = \frac{1}{2}×(b×h) unit²

                                   = \frac{1}{2} ( 5×5)cm²

                                   = \frac{25}{2} cm²

                                  = 12.5cm²

Ans :-  The perimeter of rectangular piece of paper will be 30cm. And the area of the shaded side of paper will be 12.5cm².
