A rectangular piece of plot measures 0.6 km by 0.5 km. Each side is to be fenced with
s rows of wires. What is the length of the
wire needed? If the wire costs 7 9 per metre,
what will be the cost of the wire required for fencing?. ​

Given length of rectangle field = 0.7 km

breadth of rectangle field = 0.5 km

Perimeter of rectangle field = 2[l+b]

=2[0.7+0.5]

Perimeter of field = 1.2×2=2.4km

length of filed fencing = 4P=4×2.4

length of fence = 9.6km

∴ length of wire needed is 9.6 km.

Length of rectangle = 600 m

Breadth of rectangle = 500 m

Length of wire needed = Perimeter of rectangle

Perimeter = 2 × ( l + b )

= 2 × ( 600 + 500)

= 2 × 1100

= 2200 m

Wire needed = 2200 m

Cost of wire per metre = Rs. 79

Cost of 2200 m wire = Rs. 79 × 2200

= Rs. 1,73,800
