Hello there!!!!!

we know that,density= mass/volume
mass= 20 gm (given)
volume= length*breadth *height
so, volume= 4*6*8
= 192cm³

therefore, density= 20/192
= 0.104

since its density is less than the density of water.
Therefore it'll float on water....

Given:

Dimensions of the wood = 4 cm by 6 cm by 8 cm

Mass of the wood = 20g

To Find:

Density of the piece of wood and if it will float.

Solution:

Using the formula of density -

Density = Mass/Volume

Substituting the values -

Density = 20 / 4 × 6 × 8

D = 20 / 192

D = 0.104

Answer: Density of the piece of wood is 0.104g/cm³. Because its density is lower than that of water. As a result, it will float on water.
