i ) dimensions of the ABCD rectangular plot :

Length = L = 20m

breadth = B = 14 m

according to the problem given ,

if the plot is covered with the grass leaving

w = 2 m all around , then the new dimensions

of EFGH rectangle ,

length = l = L - 2w

l = 20 - 2 × 2

l = 20 - 4 = 16m

breadth ( b ) = B - 2w

b = 14 - 2 × 2

b = 14 - 4 = 10 m

Therefore ,

Required area = area of EFGH

A = l × b

= 16m × 10m

= 160 m²

I hope this helps you.

Hiii friend,

Length of rectangular plot = 20 m

Breadth of rectangular plot = 14 m

Area of rectangular plot = Length × Breadth = 20 × 14 = 280.

Length of small rectangle = 20 - 4 = 16 m

Breadth of small rectangle = 16-4 = 10 m

Area to be laid with grass = L × B = 16 × 10 = 160 m².

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU....... :-)
