a= -b+/- root b^2-4ac/2a
= -17+/- root (17)^2-4(5)(6)/2(5)
= -17+/- root [289-120]/10
= -17+/- root [169]/10
= -17+/- 13/10, root 169=13
a= -17+13/10
= -170+13/10, cross multiplying by 17 and 10
= -157/10
= -15.7
OR
a= -17-13/10
= -30/10
= -3
But the sides cannot be negative
Therefore the sides of the rectangular plot is 15.7 and 3.
