Information provided to us:

Length of the rectangular plot = 35 m

Breadth of the rectangular plot = 13 m

Area of the rectangular plot = 35 * 13 = 455 sq. m

Length of the plot excluding the road = 35 - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Length of the plot excluding the road = 35 - 5 = 30 m

Breadth of the plot excluding the road = 13 - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Breadth of the plot excluding the road = 13 - 5 = 8 m

Area of the plot excluding the road = 30 * 8 = 240 sq. m

Area of the road = 455 - 240 = 215 sq. m

Cost of paving the road at Rs 10/m^2 = 215 * 10 = Rs 2150

Given,

length of rectangular plot,AB=35m Breadth of rectangular plot,BC= 30m

length of road inside park=32.5m

Breadth of road inside park=27.5m

Now, we know=>

Area of road =

Area of rectangle ABCD-

Area of rectangle EFGH.

=> Area of road = (AB×CB) - (EF×GF)

=>Area of road =(35×30) - (32.5×27.5)

=>Area of road = 1050 - 893.75

=>Area of road =156.25m^2.

Hence the area of road to be paved is 156.25m^2.

Now,given=>

Cost of paving 1m^2 road=Rs10

and

Cost of paving 156.25m^2 road

= Rs(156.25×10)

= Rs 1562.5

Hence we get the cost of paving156.25 m^2 road with bricks is Rs 1562.5.

Remember

Area of Rectangle=Length×Breadth

Area of sqaure= (side)×(side)=(side)^2
