Let the given rectangular plot be ABCD where AB=15m and BC=40m

According to the given condition, a minimum of 3m wide space should be left in the front and back each and 2m wide space on each of other sides.

Therefore, OD=CL=AP=BK=3m and DN=CM=BJ=AI=2m

So, length of the house of largest area that can be constructed

=EF=AB−(AI+BJ)=15m−(2m+2m)=11m

Similarly, breadth of the house of largest area that can be constructed

=EH=AD−(DO+AP)=40m−(3m+3m)=34m

So, area of house constructed =length×breadth=11m×34m=374m2
