A rectangular plot measures 25 m x 20 m. Two cross paths each 1 m wide are constructed
at right angles through the centre of the field, such that each path is parallel to one of the sides of the rectangle. Find the total area of the paths by drawing a neat figure.

Answer :-

Length of Rectangular Plot (L)= 25 m

Breadth (b)= 20 m

Width of two Crosspaths (x) = 1 m

Area of paths = (l × x) + (b × x) – (x × x)

⟹ (25 m × 1 m) + (20 m × 1m) – (1 m × 1 m)

⟹ 25 m² + 20 m² – 1 m²

⟹ 45 m² – 1 m²

⟹ 42 m²
