Answer:

477.75

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of the rectangular garden = 90 m

Breadth of the rectangular garden = 50 m

The width of the cross road = 3.5 m

To Find :-

The area of cross paths.

Analysis :-

Find area of the cross road by multiplying both the dimensions by the width and substituting them in the formula and solve it.

Add the new length and breadth multiplied by the width accordingly.

Solution :-

We know that,

l = Length

b = Breadth

a = Area

By the formula,

Given that,

Length (l) = 90 m

Breadth (b) = 50 m

Width = 3.5 m

Dimensions of the wise path,

Area of length wise path = 90 × 3.5 = 315 m

Area of breadth wise path = 50 × 3.5 = 175 m

Now, area of cross paths

= 315 + 175 − 3.5 × 3.5

= 490 − 12.25 = 477.75 m²

Therefore, the area of the cross path is 477.75 m²
