A rectangular plot of land is 300 m long and 250 m broad. It has two roads,each 3 meters wide running midway within it one parallel to the length and the other parallel to the breadth. Find the area of the roads. Also calculate the cost of constructing the roads at rupees 50 per square metre.​

area of road along the length = 3×300 = 900 m²

area of road along the breadth = 3×250 = 750 m²

in the middle, the road intersect,  

area of common part = 3×3 = 9 m²

so total area of road = 900 + 750 - 9 =1641 m²

cost = Rs 50×1641 = Rs 82050
