Given that

The length of the rectangular plot (l)

= 40 m

Let the breadth of the rectangular plot be b m

We know that

Area of a rectangle = lb sq.units

Area of the rectangular plot

=> 40×b

=> Area = 40b sq.m

Given that

The cost of leveling the plot at the rate of Rs.8 per m² = Rs 8320.

Area of the rectangular plot

=> Total cost of levelling / cost per 1 m²

=> 8320/8

=> 1040 m²

Area of the rectangular plot = 1040 m²

Now, we have

=> 40 b = 1040

=> b = 1040/40

=> b = 104/4

=> b = 26 m

Breadth of the rectangular plot = 26 m

We know that

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b) units

Perimeter of the rectangular plot

=> P = 2(40+26) m

=> P = 2(66) m

=> P = 132 m

Perimeter of the rectangular plot = 132 m

The cost of fencing the plot per 1 m

= Rs. 27.5

Total cost of fencing the rectangular plot of 132 m

=> 132 × 27.5

=> Rs. 3630

Total cost = Rs. 3630
