Given :-

  • Length of the room = 5.6 m.

  • Breadth of the room = 48 dm.

  • width of the carpet = 70 cm.

To find :-

  • the length of the carpet required.

Solution:-

Length of the room = 5.6 m

Breadth of the room = 48 dm = 4.8 m

Area of the room = 5.6 × 4.8 sq.m

width of the carpet = 70 cm = 0.7 m

Length of the carpet = l

now,

Area of the room = Area of the carpet

5.6 × 4.8 = l × 0.7

l = 5.6 × 4.8/ 0.7 = 3.48 m

Hence, the carpet is 3.48 m long.
