A rectangular room of dimensions 8m,6m,3m is to be painted.if it costs rupees 60per square metre. Find the cost of painting the walls.

According to the question , the length of the room (l) is 8 m, the breadth of the room (b) is 6 m and the height of the room (h) is 3 m.

The area of the walls that is to be painted is l b + b h + l b + b h

that is,  2( l b + b h)

= 2 ( 8 * 6 + 6 *3)

=2 ( 48 + 18)

= 2 (66)

= 132 m²

Given that the cost of painting 1 m² = Rs 60

Now, the cost of painting  132 m² = Rs 132 * 60 = Rs 7920.

Hence , the answer is Rs 7920.
