Given :

  • Length of the Garden = 25m
  • Breadth of the Garden = 8m
  • Width of the path = 3m
  • Path is surrounded externally the park.

To find :

  • Area of the Path

Solution :

As the path is surrounding the park from outside, so will add the width of the path to the original length and breadth to get the length and breadth of the outer park. After that we will subtract the area of inner park with area of outer park to get the area of the path.

Dimensions of the Outer park :

  • Length = Original Length + Width of park
  • Length = 25 + 3
  • Length = 28m

  • Breadth = Original Length + Width of park
  • Breadth = 8 + 3
  • Breadth = 11m

Area of the Inner park :

  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Area = 25 × 8
  • Area = 200m²

Area of Outer park :

  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Area = 28 × 11
  • Area = 308m²

Arwa of Path :

  • Area = Outer park's area - Inner park's area
  • Area = 308 - 200
  • Area = 108m²

Therefore :

  • Area of the Path is 108m²
