If the width is 5 units, and the length is 5 times the width:

5 x 5 = 25

The width is 5 and the length is 25.

The perimeter is the total outside of the rectangle.

5 + 5 + 25 + 25 = 60

The perimeter of the sandbox is 60 units

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

The perimeter of the sandbox is 60 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,a sandbox has a width of 5 units and the sandbox is rectangular shape.

Therefore breath of the rectangular sandbox is 5 units.

It is also given that the sandbox is 5 times as long as it is wide.

Therefore length of the rectangular sandbox is

5 \times width \\ = 5 \times 5 \\ = 25 \: units

Here we want to find perimeter of the sandbox.

We know perimeter of a rectangle is 2×(length+breath)

For example,

If length of a rectangle is x cm and breadth of a rectangle is y units then perimeter

 = 2(x + y) \: units

Therefore perimeter of the sandbox

 = 2 \times (25 + 5) \\ = 2 \times 30 \\ = 60 \: units
