Answer:

32 trees can be planted.

Given:

  • Length of the rectangular field = 24m
  • Width of the rectangular field = 18 m
  • On its sides, one tree is planted in every 2 metre

To Find:

  • The number of trees that can be planted.

Solution:

( The trees are planted on its sides. So, we need to find the perimeter of the rectangular field )

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + width )

= 2 ( 24m + 12m )

= 2 ( 36 m )

= 72 m

72 m is the perimeter of the field.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

( To find the number of trees that can be planted around its sides, we need to divide the perimeter of the field by the quantity of space that a tree will occupy )

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf Number  \: of  \: trees  =  \dfrac{Perimeter \:  of  \: the \:  field}{Space  \: taken\: by \:  1 \:  tree}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf Number  \: of  \: trees  =  \dfrac{72m}{2m}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf Number  \: of  \: trees  =  31 \:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

31 trees can be planted.
