Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

A rectangular sheet is 66 m long and 30 cm broad. It is folded along its length to form

a cylinder.

To find:-

Find the volume of the cylinder so formed ?

Solution:-

Length of the rectangular sheet (l)=66 m

Breadth of the rectangular sheet (b)=30 cm

If the rectangular sheet is folded along its length to formed a cylinder then the length becomes its

Total length of the base.

Base of the cylinder is a circle

Total length of the circle = Circumference of the circle= 2πr

=>2πr = 66

=>2×(22/7)×r = 66

=>44/7 × r = 66

=>r = 66×7/44

=>r = 3×7/2

=>r = 21/2 or 10.5 m

Radius of the cylinder = 21/2 m

Breadth of the rectangular sheet = Height of the cylinder = 30 cm

We know that

1m = 100 cm

1 Cm = 1/100 m

=>30 cm = 30/100= 0.3 m

Volume of a cylinder = πr^2h cubic units

=>V = (22/7)×(21/2)^2×(0.3) cubic m

=>V = (22/7)×(21/2)×(21/2)×(0.3)

=>V = (22×21×21×3)/(7×2×2×10)

=>V = 29106/280

=>V = 103.95 cubic m

Answer:-

Volume of the cylinder is 103.95 cubic m

Used formula:-

  • Circumference of the circle= 2πr units

  • Volume of a cylinder = πr^2h cubic units

Where , r is the radius and h is the height and π=22/7
