Given,

The length of the sheet is 14 cm and the breadth of the seat is 7 cm.

The cylinder is formed by revolving around the length.

To find,

The total surface area and curved surface area and volume of the cylinder.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Here, base circumference = breadth of sheet.

Let, radius = r cm

Base Circumference = 2πr cm

According to the data mentioned in the question,

2πr = 7

r = 3.5/π cm

Curved surface area = 2πr × height = 2 × π × 3.5/π × 14 = 98 cm²

Here, the internal surface area will be equal to the outer curved surface area as the thickness of paper is negligible. Also, the upper and lower ends of the cylinder will have negligible surface area due to negligible thickness of paper.

Total surface area = CSA + Internal surface area = 98+98 = 196 cm²

Volume = π × 3.5/π × 3.5/π × 14 = 3.5 × 3.5 × 7/22 × 14 = 54.56 cm³

Hence, the CSA is 98 cm² , the TSA is 196 cm² and volume is 54.56 cm³.
