Dimensions of the rectangle sheet,

Length ( l ) = 42cm

Breadth ( b ) = 16 cm

Dimensions of the cylinder made by

The sheet,

Let the radius of the cylinder = r cm

Height ( h ) = b = 16 cm

Circumference of the base = l

2πr = 42

r = 42/ 2π

r = 21/π ---( 1 )

THEREFORE ,

Volume of the cylinder ( v )

= Base area × height

= π r² h

= π × ( 21/π )² × 16

= ( 21 × 21 × 16 )/ π

= ( 21 × 21 × 16 × 7 ) / 22

= ( 441 × 56 ) /11 cm³
