Given :

there is a rectangular sheet of paper that has a length of 44cm and breadth of 18cm .

as the paper is rolled along its length , the breadth becomes the height of the cylinder and the length becomes the circumference of the cylinder.

=> circumference of a circle = 2πr

but the circumference = length of the paper

=> 2πr = 44

on transposing the known values to R.H.S

we get

=> r = 44 * 1/2 * 1/π

π = 22 / 7

=> 7 / 22 * 1/ 2 * 44 = r

=> r = 7cm
