A rectangular swimming pool 30 m * 20 m * 10 m is to be tiled. If each tile is 32 cm * 20 cm and costs 0.40 rupees . Find the cost of tiling .

first convert the dimensions of the pool into cm.

therefore - 30m = 30 x 100 = 3000cm

20m = 20 x 100 = 2000cm

10m = 10 x 100 = 1000cm

area of the pool to be tiled = L.S.A. of cuboid + base area

2h(l+b) + lb

2 x 1000 ( 3000 + 2000) + 3000 x 2000

10000000 + 6000000

= 16000000cm3

dimesion of tile = 32cm x 20 cm

area = lb

32 x 20 = 640

no. of tiles required = 16000000 / 640 = 25000 tiles

cost of each tile = Rs. 0.40 or 40/100

cost of tiling = 25000 x 40/100 = 10000
