A rectangular swimming pool 30m long 20m wide and 1.5m deep is to be tiled. If each tile is 50×50cm, how many tiles will be required. ( remember, there is no roof)

l = 30m

b = 20m

h = 1.5m

Area of tile = 50cm * 50cm = 0.5m * 0.5m

Required:-

Number of tile

Analysis:-

(LSA of swimming pool + Base Area)/Area of tile

Solution:-

[2 * (l + b) * h + lb)]/0.5 * 0.5

= [2 * (30 + 20) * 1.5 + 30 * 20]/0.5 * 0.5

= [2 * 50 *1.5 + 600]/0.5 * 0.5

= [ 150 + 600 ]/0.25

= 750 / 0.25

= 1500 Tiles.

Phrase:-

Therefore, 1500 tiles are required.
