Given,

  • A Rectangular Swimming pool.
  • Length = 15m
  • Breadth = 7m
  • A path 1m wide is constructed outside the swimming pool.
  • The cost of constructing it at the rate of Rs.50 per m.

To Find,

  • The Area Of Path.
  • The Cost Of constructing Path.

Solution,

The Area Of Path

→ Area of Path

= Area Of Outer Rectangle - Area of Inner Rectangle

→ Area of Path

= { [(L + 2) × (B + 2)] - [L × B] }m²

→ Area of Path

= { [(15 + 2) × (7 + 2)] - [15 × 7] }m²

→ Area of Path

= { [17 × 9] - 105 }m²

→ Area of Path

= { 171 - 105 }m²

→ Area of Path = 66m²

The Cost Of constructing Path

66 × 5

→ ₹330

Required Answer,

  1. 66m²
  2. 330
