A rectangular table cloth measures 70 cm by 50 cm.When spread on the table,it leaves a margin of 5 cm all around.Find the area of the table not covered by the cloth(margin)

leaving 5cm on all sides then we have to add 10cm(5cm+5cm) to find the area of the table then subtract it from the area of the table cloth

  area = l ×b

           = 80{70+10}  ×  60{50+10}

            48000cm²

area of table cloth = l×b

                               = 70×50

                               =3500cm²

          area of the margin = 4800cm² - 3500cm² = 1300cm²
