Answer:

Distance = 70 metres

Displacement = 50 metres

Explanation:

Given :

  • Length of the rectangular track = 40 metres

  • Breadth of the the rectangular track = 30 metres

To find :

  • Distance
  • Displacement

Distance = 30 metres+40 metres

Distance = 70 metres

The distance travelled by the man is equal to 70 metres

Displacement will be equal to the Hypotenuse of the right triangle formes

Displacement²=30²+40²

Displacement²=900+1600

Displacement²=2500

Displacement = 50 metres

The distance covered is 70 metres and Displacement is equal to 50 metres

Answer:

distance = 70 m ; displacement = 50 m

Explanation:

let the length , l = 40 m

breath ,b = 30 m

distance covered by men to one corner to its opposite corner

= 40 + 30 = 70 m

net displacement = √( 40^2 + 30^2 )  [because rectangle made a right angle triangle from one corner to its opposite corner ]

 = 50 m
