Question.

A rectangular water tank is 120 cm wide and 60 cm deep. it contain 720 l of water, what is length of water tank?

Answer.

let the length of the water tank be x cm.

volume of water that the water tank can hold

=720 litres= (720×1000)cm3

volume of rectangular water tank

= length×breadth×height

=(x×120×60)cm3

= l×120×60=720×1000

=l×120×60=720,000cm3

=length= 720,000/120×60

=length= 100cm

so,

the length of water tank is 100cm.

WIDTH (w) OF THE TANK = 120 cm

DEEPTH (d) OF THE TANK = 60 cm

LET THE LENGTH BE = l

NOW,

1L = 1000 cm^3

so, 720 L= 720000 cm^3

A/Q,

L × b × d =720000

l × 120 × 60 = 720000

7200 l = 720000

l = 100 CM.
