Given:-

In rectangular water tank,

  • Width = 120cm
  • Depth = 6cm
  • Volume = 720l

To find:-

  • Length of the rectangular water tank

Explanation:-

Here we are given width, depth and volume of the rectangular water tank. We will first change the volume from litre to cm³ and then using formula of volume of the rectangular water tank we will find length of the water tank.

Solution:-

–›» Change from litre to cubic centimetre

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ = 720 l

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀= 720 × 1000

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ = 720000 cm³

★ Volume of the rectangular water tank = length × breadth × height

⠀—›» 720000 = l × 120 × 6

⠀—›» 720000 = l × 720

⠀—›» l = 720000 / 720

⠀—›» l = 1000cm

Hence, the required answer is 1000cm.

breadth= 120cm

height= 6cm

volume= 720l

change in m³= 720 ×1000

length of water tank= 720× 1000÷ 120 × 6

. = 1000cm

. = 10m
