Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

= 2(40 + 20) cm = 2(60) cm = 120 cm.

Thus the perimeter of the rectangle is 120 cm. If it is rebent into a square, it's perimeter will be also 120 cm as the length of wire is 120 cm. Therefore,

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

= 120 = 4 × side

= side = 120/4 = 30 cm.

Thus the side of the square is 30 cm.

Solution:-

perimeter =?

 = 2 \times (l + b)

 = 2 \times (40  + 20)

 = 2 \times 60 = 120

side=perimeter÷4

 = 120 \div 4 = 30
