Given -

Length = 3.4 m

Breadth = 2.5 m

Height = 2.6 m

To find -

The cost of painting the four walls of the room.

Solution -

By using the formula of surface area of rectangle where -

l × b × h = surface area of rectangle

L = Length

B = Breadth

H = Height

Applying the formula -

→ Surface area of the room = 3.4 × 2.5 × 2.6 m

→ SA of room = 22.1 m²

Cost of painting the walls = Area of walls × Cost given

Cost of painting = 22.1 × 22 = ₹ 486.2

\therefore The area of walls are 22.1m² and cost of painting the walls is 486.2

GIVEN

  • a rectanguler room measuring 3.4m × 2.5m × 2.6 the walls of the room are painted.
  • Cost of painting = ₹22 per metre square.

TO FIND

Cost of painting of four walls of the room.

SOLUTION

We know that surface area of rectangle is,

\large{\underline{\boxed{\sf{l\times\:b\times\:h}}}}

where,

  • l = length
  • b = breath
  • h = height

Now,

  • l = 3.4m
  • b = 2.5m
  • h = 2.6

According to the question,

\large\implies{\sf{Surface\:Area=l\times\:b\times\:h}}

Putting the values,

\large\implies{\sf{Surface\:Area=3.4\times2.5\times2.6}}

\large\implies{\sf{Surface\:Area=22.1\:{m}^{2}}}

\large{\underline{\boxed{\therefore{\sf{Surface\:Area\:of\:room=22.1\:{m}^{2}.}}}}}

Now the cost of painting the four walls

\large\implies{\sf{Cost=₹(22.1\times22)}}

\large{\underline{\boxed{\therefore{\sf{₹486.2.}}}}}

\large{\pink{\underline{\boxed{\therefore{\bf{Cost\:of\:painting\:four\:walls\:is\:₹486.2.}}}}}}
