Metal which is reddish brown is copper .

Copper metal nail is added to silver nitrate solution, then it forms copper nitrate  solution which is blue in colour and silver is formed.

The balanced chemical equation is :

Cu + 2AgNO3 ----> Cu(NO3)2+ 2Ag

The above chemical reaction is displacement reaction where Cu being more reactive than silver displaces, Silver from silver nitrate solution.
