the reddish brown metal is copper cu

on heating it reacts with atmospheric oxygen to form CuO

                                         2Cu + O2 --------  2CuO

this metal does not react with any mineral acids like hcl or h2so4 because copper is less reactive than hydrogen therefore it cant displace it.

samisalive2003: But in the que it isn’t asked about displacement right
samisalive2003: Cu is heated with conc H2SO4 , a redox reaction occurs and the acid gets reduced to sulphur dioxide .....so Cu reacts with H2SO4 but not with HCL
