hey there !!

Thank you for the question !!

let P = price before reduction,

so ,

price after reduction = P(1-20%) = 0.8P

now,

No. of mangoes for Rs 15 at original price = 15/P
and,

No. of mangoes for Rs 15 at reduced price = 15/.8P

Therefore, 15/.8P -15/P = 12

P = 0.3125

So,

Price of 16 mangoes at original price = 16 x 0.3125 = 5

hence the price of 16 mangoes was RS 5

hope it helps !!!

Here is your solution

Let  price before reduction, is p

Price after reduction = P(1-20%) = 0.8P

Total No. of mangoes for Rs 15 at original price = 15/P

Total No. of mangoes for Rs 15 at reduced price = 15/.8P

A/q

=>15/.8P -15/P = 12

=>P = 0.3125

Price of 16 mangoes  = 16 x 0.3125

=>Rs 5

Hence

The price of 16 mangoes was RS 5 .

Hope it helps you
